Comic-book superheroes on the big screen

Spider-Man 3

Story*: Peter Parker has finally managed to piece together the once-broken parts of his life, maintaining a balance between his relationship with Mary-Jane and his responsibility as Spider-Man. But more challenges arise for our young hero. Peter's old friend Harry Obsourne has set out for revenge against Peter; taking up the mantle of his late father's persona as The New Goblin, and Peter must also capture Uncle Ben's real killer, Flint Marko, who has been transformed into his toughest foe yet, the Sandman. All hope seems lost when suddenly Peter's suit turns jet-black and greatly amplifies his powers. But it also begins to greatly amplify the much darker qualities of Peter's personality that he begins to lose himself to. Peter has to reach deep inside himself to free the compassionate hero he used to be if he is to ever conquer the darkness within and face not only his greatest enemies, but also...himself.

Cons: Too melodramatic!! The story simply lingers too long on the Peter-Mary moment. I know its important but never the less they could have emphasized it in a much better way.....not that they really made a point this way! Maguire was poor at acting out the transformation from one Spider-Man to Dark Spider-Man. At the end it seems that no one really used their acting potential to the max.

Pros: The effects on Sandman and Dark Spider-Man and all the scenes they appear in. They really make the film worth seeing

Fantastic 4 Rise of the Silver Surfer

Story: With Von Doom back in his homeland of Latveria the fantastic four have new troubles when Galactus has decided that Earth is his next target. When his henchman, The Silver Surfer (Norrin Radd), is sent to Earth he discovers that he's getting more than he bargained for when he encounters the Fantastic Four. But that's not all when Dr. Doom decides that after two years in the homeland he is ready to return.

Cons: The story is to thin....it develops, climaxes and ends in such a hurry. The actors don't even get the chance to start acting. On the other hand the beginning is too long and simply wasted on melodramatic issues like Reed and Sue's wedding.

Pros: Visually great Silver Surfer! I already see the chase between Torch and him with an MTV nominee for a “Best Chase in a movie” award (if one really exists)!

TMNT

Story: After the defeat of their old arch nemesis, The Shredder, the Turtles have grown apart as a family. Struggling to keep them together, their sensei, Master Splinter, becomes worried when strange things brewing in New York City. Tech-industrialist tycoon Max Winters revives four ancient stone warriors and enlists the help of the foot clan to help capture ancient monsters.

Cons: Maybe the story is a bit overblown! Turtles saving Earth from bunch of ancient stone warriors, portal to another dimension, immortality issues...hmmm.

Pros: For a start, Shredder is NOT in the movie and thats kinda refreshing! The clash between Raph and Leo is developed nicely and it keeps you guessing for possible outcomes. The CG is perfect! There are lots of nice fighting scenes and lots of funny moments! TMNT is a great animated movie all in all!! .....and April is one sexy ninja! :)
